Netflix Releases 'Wednesday' Teaser Trailer
Today Netflix gave viewers their first glimpse at Tim Burton's next anticipated project Wednesday. This will be a series revolving around the daughter of the beloved Addams Family. This will be the first live-action project surrounding the characters of the classic series since the 1998 reboot The New Addams Family which only lasted for a single season. While the teaser doesn't offer anything in terms of plot, it gives a look into the design of the titular character and the disembodied hand known as Thing.
The teaser is similar to the costume reveal teasers made popular in recent times by Joker and The Witcher, where we are introduced to the main character through the most basic means necessary. The teaser begins by showing the hands of someone braiding their own hair before cutting away to black, revealing a silhouette approaching through the darkness and being shown our first look at Jenna Ortega in her full Wednesday attire with Thing crawling up over her shoulder. The signature snapping goes on loop as a 2022 release date is revealed.

While no plot is given in this teaser, IMDb tells us that it will be as follows, "A sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago - all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."
With Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Christina Ricci in a yet to be announced role, and Tim Burton in the director's chair, this series will hopefully be a hit. The Addams Family has returned to the zeitgeist the last few years with the success of the animated films, so who other than Tim Burton could bring the series back to its live-action form. Be sure to check out Wednesday when it premiers later this year on Netflix.
