Attention proud owners of the PS5: Sony has announced that those who pay for a subscription to PlayStation Plus have been entitled up till now to have access to 19 of the legacy PS4 games for a free download as a perk of your membership. This gift, if you will, from Sony is expected to remain available for a limited period. The window for these downloads will close in May of this year. After players download their games, they will have access to their free downloads for the life of their PlayStation Plus subscription.

This promise from Sony is expected to hold true across all the tiers available for subscription. However, it is noteworthy that over a hundred legacy PS4 titles can be available for subscribers to download in the more costly higher-tier categories. Those who have been unsuccessful in picking up the PS5 due to the “unprecedented demand” will be thrilled to learn that Sony feels that the retail shortages of PS5 hardware are on their way to resolution. ARS TECHNICA reports that the following is the complete list of titles expected to be available through May 2023. Games marked with an * indicate that the game will remain available to players who subscribe to the Extra/Premium tier:

  1. Batman: Arkham Knight*

  2. Battlefield 1

  3. Bloodborne*
