With the calendar year entering the month of June, Pride events have kicked off into full swing. Companies around the world have changed their logos into pride flag versions with rainbow colors and trans flag variations to show their support of the pride movement.

Included in this is Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service Max, which will introduce LGBTQIA+ categories for shows like “Presenting with Pride,” “Pride in Every Story,” “Beyond the Binary” and “Queer Film Club.”  This is all to present films and shows that the studios have that feature artists and stories that fall under such categories.

The event is sold out and is being titled “The Battle for the Iron Throne”, but it is marketed towards the queer fandoms of the show.

NewFest’s annual Pride Festival is underway, having started on May 30 and runs til June 3, which will have both virtual and in-person screenings of LGBTQIA+ titles to try and increase awareness and amplify the stories of the queer community. Furthermore, in collaboration with NewFest Pride, the Meatpacking District, and Rooftop Films, Max will host an outdoor screening of an HBO Original concert special titled “Gaga Chromatic Ball.” This will fall on June 3 at the Gansevoort Plaza.
