'Power Rangers Cosmic Fury' Announced As Season 30; Entire 'Dino Fury' Team Returning
Happy National Power Rangers Day! Power Week caps off with a bombshell on the show’s 29th anniversary. Hasbro and eOne announced early Sunday on their Hasbro Pulse Twitter account that the 30th season of Power Rangers will be Power Rangers Cosmic Fury.
The announcement came twelve hours early, as its intended release was during the Power Rangers Dino Fury panel at Power Morphicon. While it is currently unknown what Sentai series will be adapted, or if one will be adapted at all, we do know who the cast will be. For the first time since the change from Turbo to In Space, the story continues for the current team of Rangers beyond their 40ish episodes. While there a Ranger was left behind, Dino Fury’s entire Ranger team, Russell Curry as Zayto, Hunter Deno as Amelia, Kai Moya as Ollie, Chance Perez as Javi, Tessa Rao as Izzy, and Jordan Fite as Aiyon, will return for this new season. In addition, Simon Bennett will continue to be the showrunner, and writers Alwyn Dale and Becca Barnes will continue in their roles.

When the popular live-action series began with Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, there was always some carryover. The Mighty Morphin’ name carried for three seasons, and by the end of it, Billy was the last of the original five. Suits started changing from Zeo onward, and Ranger teams would start from scratch every season with Lost Galaxy. The Dino Fury turned Cosmic Fury team will be the first with three seasons since Mighty Morphin’ and the first Rangers to appear in three consecutive seasons since Carter Grayson, the Red Ranger of Lightspeed Rescue, played by Sean Cw Johnson. The character would be in team-ups in the subsequent Time Force team-up episode “Time For Lightspeed” and the all-Red Ranger team-up “Forever Red” in Wild Force, the following season. Starting with 2011’s Samurai, a team’s allotted 44 episodes would be split over two years, into two seasons of 22 episodes each.
It is unknown how many episodes this season will get, as this is the first season since leaving Nickelodeon that isn’t beholden to the format they held. The New Zealand production is even moving to a new studio. The back quarter of Power Rangers Dino Fury, the second half of season two, premieres September 29 on Netflix. Power Rangers Cosmic Fury premieres sometime in 2023.
