Playground Games' 'Fable' Reboot Will Have A New Narrative Lead

Fable reboot Playground Games

There is still not a lot that is known about Playground Games’ Fable reboot since it was announced in 2020, but perhaps this may keep those hungering for more news about the anticipated title satisfied. The Fable reboot has found a new narrative lead. Anna Megill, who formerly served as lead writer on the project, has been promoted to narrative lead. Megill has served in this role previously on Remedy’s Control title. Her previous writing credits include the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, Dishonored: Death of Outsider, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Murdered: Soul Suspect, and Playboy: The Mansion. Megill announced this in a tweet this past Friday:

The game currently does not have a slated release date. Development has been said to be tumultuous, and resources are rumored to have been scaled down. The game is said to be running on the Forztech engine used for the Forza series, and Phil Spencer assures fans that the tone will be kept light-hearted and British. He also said the game will be out before Elder Scrolls VI, but that hardly narrows it down. It is also unknown whether or not this will be an Xbox exclusive. Despite this lack of information, it is good to hear that the highly anticipated title is still being worked on.
