Peter Jackson Confirmed To Be Executive Producer For 'The War Of The Rohirrim'
Peter Jackson just can’t stay away from The Lord of the Rings, even when it’s not his franchise. He’s just been confirmed as the newest executive producer of The Lord of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. The anime takes place over two hundred and years before Bilbo sets eyes on the ring and follows the adventures of Helm Hammerhand (Fans of Middle-earth: Shadow of War might recognise the ninth King of Rohan) and his daughter Hèra.
The Lord of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is being directed by legendary anime filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama, who worked on Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and an episode of Star Wars: Visions (The Ninth Jedi). But Peter Jackson will find himself in familiar company on this picture. Fran Walsh who co-wrote The Lord of the Rings trilogy with Jackson has also been added to the executive producer slate. Miranda Otta aka Eowyn has also been signed up as narrator. As a fellow Rohirrim, her perspective will pair well with the picture’s female lead, Hèra.
With Peter Jackson has also signed on for the new Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum movie, the only project he has not had his hand on is Amazon’s The Rings of Power. The Lord of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is due to be released theatrically on 13th December 2024
