Paramount Pictures Has Entered A Multi-Year Production Deal With DC Films Alum Walter Hamada
Walter Hamada, former head of DC Films, has landed a contract with Paramount Pictures. Previously, the director helped Warner Bros launch Aquaman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman 1984, and Shazam! along with the upcoming films The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Shazam: Fury of the Gods. In addition to his DC credits, Hamada helped usher The Conjuring and It to the global box office in partnership with New Line Cinema.
In his new role with Paramount Pictures, Hamada will oversee the company’s horror line, his true passion. On the new position, Hamada commented,
“I am thrilled to collaborate with Paramount Pictures with the singular goal of creating exceptional movies in the horror genre. Over the course of my career, nothing has been more gratifying than discovering emerging, first-time filmmakers and writers and unleashing their brilliance in a studio setting.”
Paramount Pictures cemented itself in horror with hits like A Quiet Place, Scream, Blair Witch Project, and the more recent hit Smile.
