Nintendo Will Host A New Direct To Bring The Second Trailer For 'The Super Mario Bros Movie'
It’s that time again. Nintendo announced on Monday that a second Nintendo Direct for Illumination’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be happening on November 29. It will contain the official trailer. This follows the teaser they debuted in the film’s first Direct presentation in October at New York Comic-Con. Just like the first, the announcement came with a new poster.
This comes as the film’s distributor, Universal Pictures, has Puss In Boots: The Last Wish from DreamWorks Animation set for release on December 21. That date was the original release date of The Super Mario Bros Movie before it was pushed back in April 2022. Early screenings for The Last Wish on November 26 had only the Mario teaser in front of it and nothing else. Not attaching the new trailer to a limited screening and revealing it on their own makes sense, but the extra weeks until the wide release meant an update was going to be necessary. The new poster features the throne room of Peach’s castle empty.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike. Long-time voice of Mario Charles Martinet will make several cameos.
