Nic Pizzolatto, Creator Of 'True Detective', Reunites With Mahershala Ali On Marvel's 'Blade'
As Marvel continues to be an absolute juggernaut at the box office, they’re continuing to add fan-favorite characters from the comics and have the talent to back it up. Nic Pizzolatto, who was in charge of creating True Detective, has now signed up to help work on the upcoming MCU film Blade, which will star Mahershala Ali, who worked alongside Pizzolatto in the third season of True Detective.
True Detective was what brought Pizzolatto into the public eye, who started his career as a novelist and short story writer before making a name for himself as a screenwriter. Now, he steps into the MCU with Blade.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Blade is about a vampire hunter who is half-mortal and half-immortal. His vampire hunting started in an attempt to avenge his mother, who was killed by a vampire. This is also not the first time the character has been brought to the big screen, as a trilogy of films starring Wesley Snipes in the titular role during the 2000s. The MCU variation of the character is scheduled to make its debut on September 6, 2024, and has a script written by Michael Starrbury, who won an Emmy for writing an episode of When They See Us.
