BREAKING: 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' Trailer Has Finally Dropped

Well Venom fans, it looks like the rumours were true and Sony has indeed dropped the first trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage today and boy does it look good.

Released back in 2018, the first film, simply titled Venom came with mixed reviews. Audiences loved it, with Tom Hardy getting praised for his performance, however critics weren't a big fan. Nevertheless, the film would go on to score $855 million worlwide making it a huge success for Sony.

Following this, a sequel seemed pretty much a done deal and it was officially announced back in January 2019, however with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, production was badly affected.

The sequel will see Tom Hardy return as Eddie Brock A.K.A Venom, a down and out reporter with whom the alien symbiote fused with to grant him super powers similar to that of Spider-Man's. It will also see the return of Michelle Williams as Eddie's ex-girlfriend Anne Weying and Reid Scott as her new boyfriend and will see Brock living his life as normal, well as normal as can be when you have an alien symbiote attached to you.

Joining them for the new film will be Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady, who will become Carnage, and Naomie Harris as Shriek, Carnage's love interest from the comics.

The film will be helmed by Andy Serkis, taking over from Ruben Fleischer who directed the first film and Kelly Marcel taking over the sole scripting duties after co-writing the first film.

Originally slated to release October 2020, the film was delayed (as mentioned above) and now is set for release September 24, 2021, however details of the film itself were pretty scarce until leaks started to appear online over the weekend stating the trailer would drop today, and they were correct!

Check out the trailer below:

As you can see from the trailer, Woody Harrelson's Cletus is here to cause, well, carnage and will likely serve as the main antagonist for the film. It also seems like it will be as dark as the first film, if not darker and verging on falling into the horror genre instead of superhero.

It's also worth mentioning, there were leaks alluding to a cameo from a certin wall-crawler during the trailer, however as you can see from above this was, sadly, not the case.

Stay tuned for more updates as they happen.

Until next time!
