New Trailer Released for 'Digimon Adventure 02' Movie

A new trailer for Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning has been released, this time with English subtitles. The movie is a follow-up to the Digimon Tri film series that celebrated the series’ 20th anniversary and saw the original Digidestined reunite years after Digimon Adventure ended. Now, Digimon Adventure 02 is getting the same treatment with a twist.

This new movie is going to introduce a character that claims to be the original DigiDestined: Owada Rui (voiced by Megumi Ogata known for Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion and Yugi Mutoh in Yu-Gi-Oh), and their Digimon partner is named Ukkomon. It will take place two years after Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna and features the return of the main voice cast in addition to returning director Tomohisa Taguchi and writer Akatsuki Yamatoya.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning is set to premiere in Japan on October 27th of this year. There is no word yet on an international release, but since Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna enjoyed a run in U. S. theaters, it’s likely that this movie may enjoy the same.
