We are three weeks into the new Disney+ hit, Loki season 2, but what will become our new obsession as we head into the holiday season? Disney is hoping that the reboot of the Percy Jackson franchise is just the ticket for fans of fantasy shows. This week, Variety has bought into the hype featuring the young new cast and even giving us a glimpse into the comings and goings of the show with some photos.
This past week, thanks to the wonder that was New York Comic Con, we were introduced to the gods and the actors playing them in the series. Now Variety gives us a deep dive into the creator Rick Riordin’s creation, how he was able to shake off the disastrous movie from 2010 and become the new Harry Potter series with Disney going all in. Plus, we see the fresh new cast featuring relative newcomers Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries.

Based on the photos, adventure is going to be the name of the game with the series and it appears we are going to get a true-to-the-book story that will make a lot of people happy. In the series, Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon and must now come to grips with the realization that not everything is as it seems and that there is a hidden world he is just coming to learn about. More edge-of-the-seat action is coming on December 20.
