New Games Showcase Coming Tomorrow From Xbox
It’s certainly an interesting time in the gaming industry. A slew of mass layoffs over the last 12 months has left a persistent storm cloud over the developers and the general mood of the industry. Most recently news came from EA that they are laying off several hundred employees, and they canceled a recently revealed Star Wars game from Respawn Entertainment.
That’s interesting timing because it was just announced that Xbox is doing a partner games showcase on March 6, and the companies included are Capcom, Nexon, and Electronic Arts. The release mentions that over the 30-minute broadcast there will be game trailers, game reveals, and release dates.

There are confirmed games to make an appearance, like Tales of Kenzera: Zau, a Metroidvania adventure game by Surgent Studios. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess from Capcom and The First Berserker: Khazam by Nexon.
It’s unlikely that there will be major title reveals for first-party games from Xbox Game Studios, Activision-Blizzard, and so on. Those will likely be reserved for the traditional summer-time game showcases, especially after the Xbox showcase and rumor clarification last month where Xbox head Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, and Sarah Bond discussed Xbox’s future and that they would start releasing former exclusives on other platforms. It was soon revealed after that those exclusives were Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, and Grounded.
The showcase will air tomorrow on the Xbox YouTube and Twitch channels at 1 P.M. EST / 12 P.M. CST.
