New Details Emerge About Upcoming 'Jurassic Park' Survival Horror Game
It’s been over 30 years since Jurassic Park came to theaters, and the franchise is still going strong. With LEGO sets, video games, and a slew of sequels, with even more on the way, it doesn’t look like there’s any sign of stopping.
At last year’s Game Awards, Jurassic Park: Survival was revealed, made by Saber Interactive and Universal. It takes the wildly popular survival game meta and throws in the thing everyone loves about Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs. The game follows the attempts of InGen scientist Maya Joshi, on the original island, Isla Nublar, and her attempt to survive and get off the island after everyone else has left her behind.

To do so, she’ll visit some of the familiar places seen in the original film, as well as those implied and suggested by the characters within the film, and the familiar may not be so familiar after the events of the film. In the interview with IGN, it seems that it was implied that there are other survivors on the island that you’ll encounter, as well as dinosaurs not seen in the original film. When asked about “special dinosaurs”, likely referring to the genetically modified ones of the later films like the Indominus Rex, Executive Producer John Melchior simply said, “Life finds a way…”
No gameplay was shown, but the developers did say that the terrain of the island is varied, and there are challenges surrounding traversing those. Players will have to use stealth in some areas to avoid detection, as well as climb their way to safety.
No confirmation was given on a release date, except that Jurassic Park: Survival will not be in 2024.
