In the wake of disappointing cancellations of successful series on Netflix, the film division appears to be plugging along just nicely. 2022 was a good year for original programming over at the studio, and not only were they fan favourites, but films like Blonde, White Noise, All Quiet On The Western Front, and Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio are poised to lead in some Oscar contention. 2023 appears to continue in the same vein with some great movies just released in a new sizzle reel from the company this past week, and we get some looks into Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, amongst others.

Not only do we see a blink-and-miss-it scene from Rebel Moon, but we also get to see more projects from Netflix muse Adam Sandler, with his animated film Leo and a sequel to his surprise hit, Murder Mystery 2, which features the return of the Spitz’ as they work a new case in an exotic location. But for genre fans, the clip of Rebel Moon was certainly interesting as we haven’t seen or heard much from Snyder since the release of his Snyder-Cut Justice League. The movie is described as “a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius.” This is undoubtedly an interesting description and let’s not forget that this film was a rejected Star Wars movie that Snyder pitched to Lucasfilm around 10 years ago.

Murder Mystery 2 is out on March 31, and Rebel Moon will be out on December 22.
