Netflix Releases Trailer For New Mike Flanagan Horror Show, 'The Fall Of The House Of Usher'
A new trailer dropped online for Mike Flanagan’s latest limited series with Netflix, The Fall of the House of Usher. Based loosely on the work of Edgar Allan Poe of the same name, the series follows brother and sister Rockerick and Madeline Usher, who founded Fortunato Pharmaceuticals. The siblings gain their privilege, wealth, and power in the company, but everything comes at a cost.
The cast list for the series holds a few juggernauts, such as Bruce Greenwood and Mary McDonnell, the two siblings Roderick and Madeline. Carla Gugino, Mark Hamill, Robert Longstreet, Carl Lumbly, Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, and Henry Thomas are also on the cast list. Before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Carla Gugino released a statement about her work on the series, saying, “It’s batshit crazy in the best possible way. It has quite a lot of very dark humor, but also really touches the soul…There is a fantastical, supernatural element to the story, and [Verna] is the manifestation of that. You could say she’s the executor of fate or the executor of karma.”
Mike Flanagan developed the series and will share directing duties with Michael Fimognari, each directing four episodes. Flanagan will serve as an executive producer with Fimognari, Emmy Grinwis, and Trevor Macy beneath the Intrepid Pictures moniker.
The Fall of the House of Usher will debut on Netflix on October 12.
