The next Netflix video game adaptation is here, and it is another anime project! Devil May Cry, the notable demon-slaying video game from Japanese company Capcom, recently released its first trailer a little under a month before the show’s release on April 3rd.

For those uninitiated, Devil May Cry is a series focused on the character Dante, a badass back-talking white-haired sword-and-gun-wielding demon slayer in his constant quest to, well, slay demons. This anime adaptation looks to be no exception, as the show’s demons, led by a being called White Rabbit, intend to open a portal straight to the demon realm, but Dante is unlikely to let that happen. The trailer is full of strange and monstrous demons facing off against Dante and the armed forces of Earth, who also seem to be gunning for Dante.

Produced by Adi Shankar, the voice cast includes Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, Chris Coppola as Enzo, Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, and Hoon Lee as White Rabbit. But the trailer also revealed that the late, great Kevin Conroy, best known for his years of work voicing Batman in countless projects, is also part of the cast as the voice of Vice President Baines.

Devil May Cry joins Netlix’s Castlevania universe of shows as another anime adaptation of a popular video game franchise. Capcom and Netflix are surely hoping Devil May Cry will prove just as successful.
