Netflix Animated Show 'Big Mouth' To Return For An Eighth And Final Season
Netflix announced that Big Mouth is renewed for an eighth and final season. This announcement comes just before the show’s seventh season debuts on the streaming service. Human Resources, a spin-off series, will also finish after its upcoming second season. With this announcement of an eighth season for Big Mouth, the show becomes the longest-running scripted original series in the company’s history. Grace and Frankie, who starred Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, ran for seven seasons on Netflix.
Big Mouth was created by Nick Kroll, who is in the upcoming Mel Brooks film History of the World Part II, and Andrew Goldberg, who drew inspiration from their childhood. The show has earned over 1 billion viewed hours, and both series combined have been seen in over 50 million households. Netflix’s Director of Adult Animation, Billy Wee, told Deadline, “Big Mouth is a towering achievement in animated comedy that will make Netflix history for its longevity. We are thrilled that we still have two more hilarious seasons to share with fans before this brilliant coming-of-age story reaches its conclusion.”

Nick Kroll said of the show, “If you would have told adolescent Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg that middle school would take eight years to finish, they would have been like, ‘Yeah, that sounds about right.’ This seems like it will never end.”
Kroll leads the cast of Big Mouth along with John Mulaney, Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, and Jenny Slate. Human Resources stars Kroll and Rudolph, Aidy Bryant, Randall Park, Keke Palmer, David Thewlis, and Brandon Kyle Goodman.
