The numbers are in for the weekend’s domestic box office revenue.  Paramount Studios’ Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves had a very successful opening weekend, hitting a revenue of $38.5M.  This puts the film at the top slot on the charts!  Honor Among Thieves had an international revenue of $33M as well, bringing the global total to about $71.5M.  With the film’s production budget of $150M, the performance thus far is promising.

John Wick: Chapter 4 made second place with a domestic revenue of $28.2M.  The film came out on March 24th, so a revenue decrease isn’t unnatural.  This weekend brings the total revenue up to $122.87M, which isn’t far from what Chapter 3 brought in.  The latest installment is set up to surpass the previous both domestically and internationally.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is based on the roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons, the IP of which is owned by Wizards of the Coast.  It is considered to be a reboot of the trilogy from the early 2000s.  The film follows an unlikely group of adventurers who go on a mission to retrieve a lost relic when things don’t go as planned.  It is an action-packed fantasy adventure fit for hardcore D&D fans and those unfamiliar with the game alike.  A streaming service release date hasn’t been announced yet, though it will likely come to Paramount+.
