NAACP Image Award Nominations Announced
It’s awards season, and everyone’s mind is on the Oscars, but there’s another ceremony that recognizes people of color for their achievements in the entertainment industry. The 55th NAACP Image Awards will premiere on Saturday, March 16 on BET and CBS. The ceremony includes awards for actors, directors, musicians, podcast hosts, writers (both TV and film and literary), youth, and social media personalities.
Some familiar names include Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury for their role in Secret Invasion. Leah Sava Jeffries received a nomination for Outstanding Youth Performance for her role as Annabeth in the Disney+ Percy Jackson series. Four voice actors from Across the Spider-Verse, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Issa Rae, and Shameik Moore are nominated for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance along with Ariana DeBose for her role in Wish.
