'Mission: Impossible 8' And 'A Quiet Place: Day One' Have Been Pushed Back
We have yet more shakeups due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The recent strike throughout Hollywood has completely changed the schedules for new movie releases. With the vast majority of all productions being ground to a halt due to, you know, no actors wanting to work on them, many major productions have been pushed back while two of the latest big names to be affected are the eighth Mission: Impossible film, which has been pushed back to May 23rd, 2025 from June 28th, 2024, and the film A Quiet Place: Day One, the spinoff to the 2018 surprise hit horror film, which will be pushed back slightly to June 28, 2024 from March 8, 2024.
Another reason that Mission: Impossible is getting a longer production time is likely because the seventh film was a box office disappointment, not even making $600 million worldwide. It’s likely that the film is also getting some adjustments to make it more appealing to viewers so that Paramount doesn’t get a repeat of the previous film’s box office receipts. This is certainly a risk, as any adjustments to the film that have been planned will certainly balloon the film’s already large budget. Either way, we’ll see if it pans out, or if the returns ensure that we’ve seen the last of Ethan Hunt for a while.
