Matt Mercer Will Voice Vincent Valentine In 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth'

The Final Fantasy series is beloved by many fans. There have been many games in the series throughout the years as well. Final Fantasy VII, however, is the most popular game in the series, and even one of the most popular games of all time. With that being said, the first part of a long-awaited remake was released in 2020 for next-gen consoles. The second part, however, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is scheduled to be released on February 29th, 2024. This past weekend at New York Comic Con, Square Enix had a panel, where the new voice of Vincent Valentine was revealed.

Matt Mercer, known voice actor and Dungeon Master for the Dungeons and Dragons show Critical Role, moderated the Square Enix panel at NYCC. He also cleared up some rumors for fans and revealed that he is indeed the voice of Vincent Valentine in the upcoming Final Fantasy game. From the video, it's clear that fans, and the cast, were ecstatic about this announcement.

Vincent Valentine is an optional playable character in Final Fantasy VII. He is a former Turk with a mysterious past, that ties him to many of the main antagonists of the game. In battle, he utilizes handguns and also has a special ability that lets him shapeshift, which causes his stats to increase. In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, he, alongside Cid Highwind, will act as an AI-controlled guest party character.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29th, 2024 for PlayStation 5.
