Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will kick off Phase Five of Marvel's MCU, but as with the previous phase, its content will be split between cinematic features and TV shows on Disney+. One of them is Agatha: Coven of Chaos, a spin-off series to WandaVision, Marvel's first MCU show on the streaming platform.

Originally called Agatha: House of Harkness, but then renamed Agatha: Coven of Chaos at San Diego Comic-Con last year, the show will see the return of Kathryn Hahn as the evil witch Agatha Harkness, who had tried to steal the magic powers of Wanda Maximoff but was ultimately humiliated by the Scarlet Witch.

Also coming back to reprise their roles are Debra Jo Rupp (Sharon Davis/Mrs. Hart), Emma Caufield (Sarah Proctor/Dottie Jones), as well as David Payton (Herb/John Collins), David Lengel (Phil Jones/Harold Proctor), Asif Ali (Norm/Abilash Tandon), Amos Glick (Dennis), Brian Brightman (Sheriff), and Kate Forbes (Evanora Harkness).

Joining the cast will be Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Maria Dizzia.

Regarding the crew behind the scenes, the scripts for Coven of Chaos originate from Megan McDonnell, Peter Cameron, Laura Donney, and Cameron Squires.

Jac Shaeffer, creator, and producer of WandaVision will be the showrunner for the new series as well, but she will also step up to direct some of the episodes herself. Further directing duties will fall to Gandja Monteiro, whose resume includes Netflix's recent hit series Wednesday, and to Rachel Goldberg, who has previously worked on the short-lived Resident Evil series, also for the streaming giant from Scott's Valley.

Originally slated for a late 2023/early 2024 release, shooting for Agatha: Coven of Chaos will reportedly begin on January 17 and go on for the next several months. Due to the rather extensive post-production phase, which has become typical for a series of this magnitude, it seems doubtful that the further adventures of Agatha Harness will hit Disney's streaming platform this year.
