“First it comes for the metal…””

Back in November of 2022, Star Wars fans were given Revelations; a one-shot comic issue teasing the future of the currently running Star Wars comic series. In said issue, we learned about Ajax Sigma; an ancient droid revolutionary destroyed during the High Republic, but now set to come back and shift the course of the galaxy during the year between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Now, this future development seems to finally have a set date.

Yesterday, Marvel.com officially announced a new crossover event between all the ongoing Star Wars titles. Said event will begin this summer and comprise issues of Star Wars from Charles Soule, Darth Vader from Greg Pak, Doctor Aphra from Alyssa Wong, and Bounty Hunters from Ethan Sacks.

We’ve yet to see how Ajax Sigma and his mechanical machinations will affect each of the comics here. But going off of how epic the Crimson Dawn trilogy from Soule has been, this event is certainly going to shake the status quo of the Marvel Star Wars comics.

As Hidden Empire nears it conclusion and Qi’ra’s plan nears its end, I’ll be excited to see how this crossover event tries to outdo the previous one. The event begins this summer and is likely to last until the fall much like War of the Bounty Hunters. Whatever metal Ajax Sigma is coming for, the galaxy had better steel itself.
