Back in 2006, Evangeline Lilly, known for her roles as Kane Austin in Lost and Hope Van Dyne in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Ant-Man movies, posted a video about wanting to retire from acting in ten years. Her goals in the video included being a writer, having a family, and “influencing people’s lives in humanitarian ways.” In a recent social media post, Lilly revealed a list with checkmarks by those same goals. In the post, she wrote, “I am so filled with joy and contentment today as I live out my vision. Praise God, I feel so grateful for my blessings.”

Lilly continued, “Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment. I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong. A new season has arrived, and I AM READY...and I AM HAPPY." In addition to her more famous roles, Lilly played Tauriel in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy. She also had roles in Reel Steel and the war drama The Hurt Locker. It may have taken her more than ten years, but Lilly is finally accomplishing her goals.
