Leslye Headland Talks About Her Experience Having Yoda On Set For 'The Acolyte' Finale
The legendary Master Jedi, Yoda, made a brief appearance during the final episode of The Acolyte. For Leslye Headland, the appearance of Yoda on the set was anything but a brief moment. It was a magical memory that not only she, but even the crew new to the Star Wars franchise, found emotional.
“Seeing him in person, I have never been so starstruck in my life,” Headland said. I felt like I saw my entire life flash before my eyes. I felt like I was meeting an entity, not a puppet, but an entity.” As for the others on set… “I had grown men crying on set. My A camera, who was the toughest, coolest guy and won a bunch of awards for All Quiet on the Western Front – just the toughest of the tough guys and sweetie on the inside, had tears of [joy] and was like ‘Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this.’ Yoda brings people to tears. It’s just astonishing.”

Headland described having Yoda on set as a “cherry on top experience. As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it was stunning. Literally, in the true sense of that word, I was stunned.” As for how Yoda came to appear on The Acolyte, Headland says it was important to be balancing the scales. “If you were going to introduce Plagueis, then you needed a formidable other side of that. As somebody that knows who Plagueis is and knows where the lineage of the Sith is headed, it would be imbalanced if you didn’t have somebody on the light side who carried as much gravitas. So it just made sense to me.”
This first season of The Acolyte is available to watch on Disney+. There is yet to be word on whether a second season is to come, but it is likely these top figures of both the light and dark will feature in that potential season.
