LEGO Reveals New 'Lord of the Rings' Set
Over 20 years since the theatrical release of The Fellowship of the Ring and Tolkien interest is still going strong. With a successful first season of The Rings of Power, new video games on the horizon like Gollum, and a new book detailing the fall of Numenor, it’s a good time for companies to cash in on the interest.
It looks like that memo was received by LEGO. Teased the other day with a short video and rumored to be coming down the pipes, it was announced today that LEGO is releasing a massive new Lord of the Rings set this march. That set is none other than the Council of Elrond’s meeting at Rivendell. It’s beautifully colored and designed, chock-full of details and a whopping 13 minifigs to complete the set. It comes in at over 6000 pieces, and will retail for $500.

The sheer amount of detail in the set makes this a must have for LEGO and Lord of the Rings fans alike. Inside the Last Homely House fans will find the bed where Frodo was nursed back to health (twice…he’s rather injury prone), the statue where Boromir found the Shards of Narsil, complimented with a LEGO version of a broken Narsil.
Outside the house is a miniature version of the semi-circle Council of Elrond where Frodo bravely volunteered to take the One Ring to Mount Doom, under the shade of the golden leaves of Elrond’s trees. Off to the side is the small bridge where Aragorn and Arwen professed their love for another before he set off on the quest to destroy the ring.
This beautiful, colorful set will be available March 1 for LEGO VIP members, and comes with two BrickHeadz sets (Frodo and Gollum). Non-VIP members will have to wait until March 8 to pick it up. Either way, this promises to be one of the most sought after and beautiful sets to add to your collection.
