Larian's 'Baldur's Gate 3' Just Became The First Game To Win Every GOTY Award
Baldur’s Gate 3 has cleaned up at the BAFTA’s, taking home five awards, including Best Game, and the coveted EE Player's Choice Award, the only category to be voted for by the general public. This means that Larian’s Dungeons and Dragons inspired online RPG has won every major game of the year award this season.
The Golden Joystick Awards, The D.I.C.E Awards, The Game Developer Awards and The Game Awards all gave the top prize to Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s the first game of its kind to sweep the board, achieving what Elden Ring from the Dark Souls series (one of the most critically acclaimed games in recent history) could not.

As well as picking up Best Game plaudits, Baldur’s Gate 3 is frequently walking away with acting, writing and score trophies. Larian Studios also celebrated a BAFTA win for narrative and Composer, Borislav Slavov won a BAFTA for his score. Slavov has had amazing recognition from his work on Baldur’s Gate 3, additionally picking up several nominations from The Game Awards and The Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most popular games on Steam, still ranking tenth in their concurrent users chart, with over twenty million owners of the download. This is despite the full release being over six months old. Larian and Wizards of the Coast have no plans to add an expansion or work on a Baldur’s Gate 4 for the moment. So, it’s just as well everyone is enjoying the core content, because there might not be anything substantially new for a while.
