Jennifer Garner Returning To Play Elektra In 'Deadpool 3'
Marvel fans can anticipate several potential cameos in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The Hollywood Reporter reports Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra from her role in 20th Century Fox’s 2003’s Ben Affleck lead Daredevil feature.
Garner’s confirmation in the film somewhat solidifies the rumors of Deadpool 3 taking on the multiverse plot point, which was implied when Hugh Jackman signed onto the cast, effectively coming out of retirement from the character of Wolverine.
20th Century Fox’s Daredevil film was considered a failure then; however, Garner’s Elektra was popular amongst fans, so much so that she starred in her solo film in 2005.
Shawn Levy will direct Deadpool 3, and the film will mark the second time the trio of Garner, Levy, and Reynolds will work together since Netflix’s The Adam Project. The third installment of Deadpool is produced by Kevin Feige, Shawn Levy, and Ryan Reynolds.
The script was completed before the ongoing WGA strike, which currently bars Reynolds from improvising any lines on set as the film is currently in production. The script was written by Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Zeb Wells.
Deadpool 3 is set to debut on May 3, 2024.
