Just when DC’s future film plans couldn’t get more confusing, Jason Mamoa may have just dropped a major bombshell for Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. Affleck and Keaton might both be in the film. Though he didn’t let much slip, he heavily implied this could be the case.

While at the premiere for season 3 of See, he was asked by The Associated Press about the sequel to Aquaman. When the subject of Batman came up he said:

“Well I can’t tell you anything about the reunion, he may or may not be in it. And there could be more or less… or even more Batmans in it. Who knows? You can only know a little bit.”

It was previously reported that Affleck would be replacing Keaton in the role of Bruce Wayne for the film. Test audiences were reportedly confused by Keaton’s inclusion, so it has been the belief that Affleck was brought in to make it more comprehensive. Both Keaton and Affleck are set to play the character in different universes in The Flash which was supposed to set up Keaton as the replacement for the character in the DCEU.

Following the cancellation of Batgirl and the future of The Flash still in question, it looked as though Keaton’s time in the DCEU was done before it even started. Perhaps it’s just getting started? Whatever the case may be, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom sounds like it’ll make quite a splash when it hits theaters in December 2023.
