James Gunn's 'Superman' Trailer Finally Debuts
James Gunn released the first trailer for his upcoming Superman film, which will debut in theaters on July 11th, 2025. This is the first time audiences will have a look at the new Superman and Clark Kent, played by David Correnswet, as well as the first look at Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan.
Earlier this week, Gunn previewed the trailer for the press, noting how the goal was to make “a movie about being good.” He went on to say, “I believe in the goodness of human beings, and I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs or politics, are doing their best to get by and are trying to be good people despite what it might seem like to the other side or what that other side might be, and I think this movie is about that.”

Gunn showcased the cavalcade of characters the film plans to highlight, such as Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Guy Gardner, a Green Lantern, performed by Nathan Fillion.
There are plenty of first looks at Gunn’s rendition of The Daily Planet, LutherCorp, the Man of Steel’s Fortress of Solitude, Metamorpho, and the fan-favorite pup, Krypto. Gunn spoke with Deadline about how Superman’s dog will play a role in the upcoming epic film by saying, “His relationship with Krypto is complicated. He’s not nearly the best dog. There’s a lot more to Krypto than you see in the trailer.”
Superman debuts this summer on July 11.
