James Gunn's 'Superman' To Feature Special Cameo By The Son Of Christopher Reeve
Christopher Reeve, who died in 2004 after being paralysed from the neck down in a horse riding accident in 1995, is having his legacy as Superman celebrated. His youngest son, Will Reeve, will be making a cameo in James Gunn’s Superman. Such was found out by reporters from Cleveland, Ohio, where filming was taking place, who were capturing all the behind-the-scenes action. It is said that the scene Reeve will cameo in is a major scene in the movie.
The other way Christopher Reeve's legacy is being celebrated is through the documentary by Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui. Super/Man chronicles the career of the late actor, with appearances by all the Reeve children. Will, Matthew, and Alexandra all feature to talk about their memories of their father as his rise to Hollywood icon status is explored. The documentary was shown during the Sundance Film Festival, where Will Reeve provided his thoughts on seeing it in full.

“The majority of my memories of my dad involve him after the accident because I was not yet three years old when he was injured. So to see his entire life leading up until that time laid out so poetically and cinematically and authentically by our wonderful directors has been a real gift for me.”
The Super/Man documentary was sold to Warner Bros. Discovery after the festival, who will release it to select theatres on September 21. An encore presentation will follow on September 25, the birthday of Christopher Reeve. James Gunn’s Superman is set to be the first of the new DC Universe films, opening Chapter One: Gods and Monsters on July 11, 2025.
