James Gunn Says That He Is Ready To Unveil The Future Of DC Studios
In a shocking twist of fate tonight, James Gunn announced that Henry Cavill would no longer be playing Superman in the DCU. Along with this announcement, he made a few others that allude to the plans of the DCU. As rumors have swirled as to the future of the franchise, Gunn has made a point today to get ahead of any more rumors.
The morning started with a rumor stating that Gunn and Safran were looking to incorporate Robert Pattinson’s Batman into the DCU. Quickly, Gunn sprung into action and shot down any rumors surrounding the Reeves universe and the DCU combining. The day ended with Gunn releasing the sad news that Henry Cavill would not be the Superman of the new DCU, but with a sign of hope for clarity as to his and Safran’s plans.

If Cavill is not returning as Superman in their plans, it can be speculated that Affleck will return solely in a directorial role. Gunn and Safran’s plan is right around the corner as we can expect their plan following the New Year. While fans are surely in shock at tonight’s announcements, they can take solace in the fact that things will not be uncertain for long.
