James Gunn Provides Fans With An Update On ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2
James Gunn, the director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies, released some exciting news for Peacemaker fans. In a happy birthday tweet to Danielle Brooks. The actress plays Leota Adebayo alongside John Cena’s Peacemaker. The wrestler turned actor recently celebrated his 20th anniversary in the WWE. The tweet wished Danielle a happy birthday and mentioned looking forward to working with the actress again in a few months.
While there’s no release date yet, the tweet points to filming for the second season starting soon. The director confirmed that the filming won’t begin until after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 5, 2023.
This likely pushes season 2 of Peacemaker toward a winter 2023 or potentially an early 2024 release. While fans may be disappointed by the distant release date, any news is a welcome development at this point.
Peacemaker focuses on Christopher Smith, a vigilante antihero and former member of The Suicide Squad.
