Insomniac Games have chipped in on a Twitter conversation between fans to reassure that Spider-Man 2 is still on track for a 2023 release.

As part of the hype cycle for Miles Morales seeing a release date for PC, Insomniac Games posted a GIF showing off a small part of the game. The announcement and following tweet attracted fans asking for more details about Spider-Man 2, which had been announced last year.

The reply of Insomniac Games to some of those fans told them not to worry, that good progress was being made on the game, and that it should still see a 2023 release. Also that, “Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination”, which indicates that when they show it off, they want that marketing material to be at its best.

Spider-Man 2 was revealed during the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase event, which showed off a continuation for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face off against new foes, for release on the PlayStation 5 in 2023. The characters who had previously voiced those characters would be returning for this new game, with Venom revealed as one of the enemies they would face.

Also at that same event, Insomniac revealed they were working on a second game in collaboration with Marvel. That beingWolverine, which at the time was said to have been in very early development.
