One of the best-selling games in 2023, and even the last few years, is Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2. Released in October, the game sold so well that it sold over 5 million copies in just 11 days, 2.5 of those were in just the first 24 hours, outpacing God of War: Ragnarok. It was nominated for multiple Game Awards categories but sadly did not take home any wins.

Despite that, Insomniac has plenty in store for the stellar sequel to Spider-Man. Yesterday, Insomniac sent out a press release for their 2024 roadmap for Spider-Man 2, and there’s plenty in store for fans.

They didn’t list many details, but it will be coming in early 2024. It is at least supposed to contain their highly anticipated New Game+ mode. New Game+ is a popular feature in many modern games that extends the life of the game for many fans.

The press release also mentions other features to be added to the roadmap, including the ability to change the time of day in the game, as well as the ability to change tendril colors, and the ability to replay missions.

This news follows on the heels of a report that Insomniac was the target of a hack, purportedly about their upcoming Wolverine game. The perpetrators posted the information online for sale, and within this leak was also a reference to a Spiderverse game. Whether this is a third Spider-Man game, or a Spiderverse version of the Miles Morales add-on for the first Spider-Man game was not confirmed.
