Movie fans have been worried about the box office recently. However, those fears should be quelled with the release of the Pixar animated sequel, Inside Out 2. The film has been a massive success in theaters, and it even broke some records.

Inside Out 2 has recently surpassed Frozen II to become the highest-grossing Hollywood animated film of all time. The film has made $601 million domestically, and $861.8 million internationally. The film has also surpassed 2023’s Barbie at the box office. It’s now No. 13 on the list of all-time-grossing films, animated or otherwise. It’s the biggest film to come to theaters, since Barbie last year.

The success of the film is a surprise, as Pixar has had some recent troubles getting families to the theaters. Many would rather just wait for the film to release on streaming, considering how expensive movie theaters are nowadays. It also didn’t help that the past three Pixar films went straight to streaming, instead of hitting theaters.

If the success keeps going, the sequel could easily surpass Incredibles 2 to become the highest-grossing Pixar film of all time. The film has yet to open in Japan, but the company thinks it will have continued success there. Throughout Asia, North America, and Europe the film is not only being seen by families, but also by teenagers and young adult females who grew up with the first film, that released in 2015.
