Impressive Deepfake Of ‘The Batman’ Brings Adam West Back
It has been a long time since Adam West wore the cape and cowl to play Batman but the world will never forget the “Pows” and “Kabooms” that came along with that. West was the first ever actor to play the role and while it may not be remembered for being the best and most accurate portrayal of the character, it does live on in the hearts and minds of those who are nostalgic. So much so that a deepfake has been made imagining The Batman and what it would look like with Adam West in the titular role and not Robert Pattinson.
The Batman, which hit theatres in March, has become a massive success both financially and on streaming. The film just racked up the biggest opening week for HBO Max and a sequel was just greenlit at CinemaCon. The deepfake pays both respects to how far Batman has come since West originally donned the cape in the 60s and also shows how great the character can be as a whole, that all these iterations exist and the character continues to evolve in such amazing ways.

The Corridor Crew are the ones responsible for this edit and it shows their talent as well on the editing front. Batman has a long history at DC comics and this video even captures the brilliant nature of both tones. It reimagines the opening scene of The Batman while adding in the classic “Pow” and “Wham '' that makes the Adam West Batman so iconic. One of the coolest factors of the video was it even edited in Frank Goershin’s version of the Riddler as well as Burgess Meredith as the Penguin. Zoe Kravitz was the only actor from the modern day film to still appear in the trailer. Even Burt Ward made an appearance as Robin.
The West Batman series ran from 1966-1968 with 120 episodes airing in that time frame. The series is known for being over the top and completely embracing the style of comics at the time. As we know Batman would not see another attempt at live action until the late 80s when Michael Keaton took over the spotlight. West will forever be remembered as Batman, as well as playing a version of himself in Family Guy where he serves as mayor of the town of Quahog. For those who know Batman, West may not be their favorite version of the character, but the deepfake video certainly embraced that era and captured it on screen to near perfection.
From West down to Pattinson, each version of the character has been fun and unique in its own ways. Burton added more darkness, while also trying to keep some of what made the West Batman so special. Christopher Nolan showed us a more grounded Batman take. Zack Snyder showed us what a Batman would look like in the larger scope of the DC universe, while trying to find his hope again. Matt Reeves has taken us on a journey with a Batman who is still learning to balance his life as a vigilante and as Bruce Wayne, all the while coming to terms with being a beacon of hope for the people of Gotham. Reeves is the latest of the Batman directors to be given a second chance to tell more amazing stories set in the Batman world and there is no doubt he can make yet another masterpiece for long time fans of Gotham and its hero.
