How Pedro Pascal's HBO Deal Will Affect The Future Of 'Star Wars'
“First position.” That's how Deadline described Pedro Pascal’s thoughts on whether his role in HBO’s upcoming series The Last of Us will affect season 3 of Disney+’s The Mandalorian.
Pedro Pascal has blessed us with his many amazing characters over the years. Recently, he stole the heart of all Star Wars fans, playing his character Din Djarin (The Mandalorian). The success of the series itself has given fans hope for the future of Star Wars. The Mandalorian just wrapped its second season, leaving fans hungry for more.
Yet fans of Pascal and video games will be able to see Pascal portraying another amazing character very soon. The gaming community went wild when HBO announced that they will be adapting Naughty Dog’s award-winning game The Last of Us into a TV series. Although the excitement rises, Star Wars fans are growing worried that Pascal may devote more time to The Last of Us, potentially conflicting with filming for The Mandalorian.
Deadline reported on Pascal’s priority, describing his role in The Last of Us as “First position,” meaning it will be his first priority, even moreso than The Mandalorian series itself. This, of course, comes with the idea that many actors sometimes have to drop projects they were excited about, due to a longer series they are working on. Sometimes, those shows flop, and those actors wish that they could have worked on another that did better than their current project.
Pascal will be taking the role of Joel from The Last of Us, meaning that he will be one of the main protagonists of the series. The series is believed to begin production later this year, and since The Mandalorian season 3 won’t come out until 2022, and there may be enough time for Pascal to handle both shows, with no interruptions.
Season 3 of The Mandalorian is expected to be a lot different from our last two seasons. First of all, the absence of Grogu (The Child) should have a huge impact on many fans of the series, and Star Wars in general. Fans are still wondering what will happen to the story of The Mandalorian, since now Grogu has gone with Luke Skywalker himself to train with his Force abilities.
One of the other things that will be different in season 3 will be the absence of Cara Dune. This past week, it was officially announced that Disney and Lucasfilm will no longer continue working with her on The Mandalorian. Fans are wondering what will happen to Cara Dune as a character, as well as what was planned for her character that we may not get to ever see.
Season 3 will be filled with mysteries, especially with Grogu and Cara being absent from the series. Some say Bo-Katan will be the new antagonist, yet it is all a mystery, one that we will all have to wait until 2022 to have answered.
With The Last of Us being an amazing video game storyline, fans are super excited to see what HBO will do with the series itself, and how Pedro Pascal will portray Joel. Whichever way HBO decides to take, we all can be sure that Pedro Pascal will deliver an amazing performance as an amazing character, and take us on a new exciting television journey through a wonderful video game storyline. Even if fans are worried that Pedro Pascal is putting The Last of Us series before The Mandalorian, we all know that he will always deliver on his part to make an amazing character. He did it in Game of Thrones, he did it in The Mandalorian, and he will for sure deliver as Joel in The Last of Us.
