'House Of The Dragon' Season Two Final Trailer Drops
Fan anticipation for the second season of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon has ramped up another notch with the release of the final trailer of Season Two:
Season One of House of the Dragon primarily set the stage for this season, by introducing viewers to a pre-Game of Thrones era of Westeros set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, one which was ruled exclusively by the Targaryens, and introduced the characters and personalities who will feature prominently in the wars to come. Season Two will feature the beginning of one of the defining wars of the Targaryen dynasty known as “The Dance of Dragons”.
At the end of the first season, Westeros stood on the brink of civil war caused by the usurpation of the Iron Throne by Queen Alicent’s son, Aegon Targaryen II, from Rhaenyra Targaryen, the daughter of the late Viserys Targaryen and chosen heir, as well as the death of Lucerys “Luke” Velaryon, Rhaenyra’s son, at the hands of Alicent’s son’s, Aemond Targaryen, and his dragon, Vhaegar.

The Season Two Trailer promises the start of the full-blown civil war between the two queens and their armies over control of the Iron Throne and Westeros. The highlights of the final trailer include King Aegon II declaring his desire for vengeance against Rhaenyra, presumably after the “Blood and Cheese” incident, and armies preparing to battle. The trailer also returns viewers to The Wall and introduces us to a young Lord Cregan Stark, a distant ancestor of Ned Stark and his family.
House of the Dragon Season Two premieres on June 16, exclusively on Max, with the episode, A Son For a Son.
