Horror Icons That Would Be Absolutely Terrifying If They Could Wield The Force
I remember leaving the midnight showing of Rogue One with my mate Lewis. It was like 3 AM. Both of us enjoyed the film, but that ending just blew our minds. You know the scene I am talking about. That hallway scene with Darth Vader is like something out of a horror movie. This is a side of Vader that no one has ever seen on screen before. He is more akin to a slasher villain, the true embodiment of fear and the brutality of the Dark Side. Just hacking and slashing. This is probably the closest we will ever get to a horror movie set within Star Wars.
It got me thinking. If that particular scene was like a slasher, then what would it be like if a slasher/horror villain had those abilities? Which horror icons would be absolutely terrifying if they could wield the Force and had access to a lightsaber or lightsaber-like weapon? Well, Halloween is almost upon us, and there is no better time to discuss this, I guess. Let's jump in, shall we?

Freddy Kruger (The Nightmare On Elm Street Franchise)
One, Two. Freddy's coming for you. Freddy Kruger, the modern day boogeyman. The spirit of the Springwood Slasher, Kruger uses a gloved hand razors to kill his victims in their dreams, which in turn kills them in the real world. When in the dream world, he is in control. However, if he is brought into the real world, he is as vulnerable as any mortal being.
Freddy with the Force would be a true nightmare, whether in a dream or in the real world. He would be able to inflict even worse psychological damage on his victims, possessing their minds with haunting dream-like visions. We could see him fully embracing the Dark Side of the Force. Like Palpatine, he would probably get some sick kicks out of it. After all, they both love being evil. You know full well he would take full advantage of slashing his victims with “light-razors” on his fingers.
Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray (The Child's Play/Chucky Franchise)
I remember hearing about this one when I was a kid. I had seen Toy Story, and Toy Soldiers, which was described as Toy Story for big boys. While in school, I heard about another toy film from friends. This one was about a killer doll named Chucky from Child's Play. Once a normal (well when I say normal, he was a serial killer) human, Charles Lee Ray transferred his soul into a Good Guy doll through the power of voodoo after being mortally wounded.
Even without the Force, Chucky already has the ability to transfer his soul into other beings/objects, a Dark Side ability. This is something Sidious would do in both Star Wars canon and Legends. With the power of the Force, he could be like Yoda. You might underestimate him for his size, at first. Then, he would be jumping around slashing everyone who is bigger than him
Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Franchise)
Stand back, I've got a chainsaw! RIM-MIM MIM MIM MIM… Inspired by real life murderer Ed Gein, Leatherface is a cannibalistic, mentally unstable mass murderer whose signature weapon is the chainsaw. His name comes from the human skin mask that he wears.
If you thought a lightsaber could mess you up, imagine this hulking Texan coming at you with a “lightsaw,” swinging it violently, and cutting you into pieces. As a Force wielder, he would most likely be more animalistic with some more focus on his aim with an already dangerous weapon. He would probably try to Force pull you into the saw.
Now from one chainsaw wielding icon to another…
Ash Williams (The Evil Dead Franchise)
We have got to have at least one actual "good guy" on this list. The man has faced off against evil multiple times and lived. He also has the best chin in film. He might be incompetent and not the nicest person in the world, but he sure knows how to fight evil, especially with his trusted saw and boomstick. As Bruce Campbell would describe him, "He's a bad slow thinker and a good fast thinker."
Similar to Leatherface, he would definitely upgrade to a “lightsaw” too. With the power of the Force, he certainly would be El Jefe. We could see him acting even more recklessly, taking advantage of his new-found powers. However, he would also get hurt a lot less against…evil.
Personally, I would love to see Bruce Campbell make an appearance in Star Wars. He could definitely pull off a scoundrel-like character.
The Shape AKA Michael Myers (Halloween Franchise)
He is no man. He is evil incarnate. Above and below, they have motives, goals and reasons. Michael Myers has NONE. He breathes. He kills. As a child, he killed his sister. Then 15 years later to the day, he returns to his hometown of Haddonfield to kill again, and he has not stopped since. His own doctor describes his eyes as the devil’s eyes. There is only evil behind those eyes. He has no conscience, no rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. There is nothing but darkness.
While he is human, he simply will not die. He has been stabbed, beaten, run over, left to burn, and shot multiple times. Nothing can stop him, no. He just gets back up to kill again. With the Force, who knows what he would be capable of. He would just be a brutal mindless killing machine as he feeds off of the fear and the terror he creates, which then makes him stronger. With a lightsaber, he would cut you down like butter without a second thought. He would be a true vessel of the Dark Side that even the Sith would be concerned about.
Pinhead (Hellraiser Franchise)
Okay, I am going to be honest about this one. I know of Pinhead. I know that there are many films in the Hellraiser series, but I have not seen them. I did want to include him in this article as I am curious about it.
From what I have researched, even without the Force, this dude sounds straight up terrifying, more so than Myers. Pinhead is a demon priest from hell who enjoys pain, torture, and suffering. He reminds me of Darth Sion from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. On the other hand, he probably makes Sion look like a choir boy compared to him. With the power of the Force, Pinhead would be an even greater and more dangerous Sith Lord of Pain.
Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th Franchise)
This guy right here is who comes to mind during that scene from Rogue One. When Darth Vader is slashing his way through that hallway, it feels like something that Jason Voorhees would do: a masked killing machine cutting down anyone in his way. In his earlier portrayals, Jason was just a hulking murderous woodsman. It is not until later films that he gains superhuman strength, regenerative abilities, and near invulnerability.
Now, think of Jason with the Force. Well, that body count of his would increase tenfold. He can already punch a man's head clean off or snap you in half. It will just make things easier for him with the Force. He would just crush you where you stand, or throw you about like a ragdoll. Give him a “lightmachete,” and he would Force throw it and cut down any fleeing victims. It would truly be a terrifying trip in the woods.
So which horror icon do you think would be absolutely terrifying if they could wield the power of the Force?
