HBO Released Several New Character Posters For Their Upcoming 'The Last Of Us' Adaptation

The first The Last of Us season will be a 10-episode television adaptation of the popular video game franchise and is set to launch on HBO Max on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Fans of the game franchise will appreciate that the storyline follows closely with the game and will even have the chance to hear familiar voices as the actors who voiced popular characters in the game will have guest spots throughout the show, some of whom may even be reoccurring roles.

HBO has recently shared some of the posters on Twitter so fans can put faces to the names of their favorite characters. Pedro Pascal of Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian will play Joel Miller, Ellie’s father figure, traveling companion, and protector across the post-pandemic country. Bella Ramsey, Pascal’s co-star from Game of Thrones and the voice of Freya in Doctor Who Infinity: The Dalek Invasion of Time is cast as Ellie, who may be the cure to the pandemic at the source of the collapse of human society.

Nico Parker will guest star as Joel’s daughter, Sarah in the series. Fans may recognize her from Disney’s live-action Dumbo (2019) as well as Reminiscence (2021).

Euphoria and Wrinkle in Time actress, Storm Reid has been cast as Ellie’s friend, Riley.

Lamar Johnson from Dark Phoenix will play the role of big brother, Henry.

Newcomer, Keivonn Woodard is cast as the little brother, Sam.

The leader, the soldier, and the smuggler. Merle Dandridge (The Fight Attendant and voice of Marlene in The Last of Us game) is Marlene, Gabriel Luna (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Terminator: Dark Fate) is Tommy, and Anna Torv (Fringe and Mindhunter) is Tess.

The optimist, Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus’) is Frank and the survivalist, Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) is Bill.

The Last of Us will be available for streaming on HBO Max on January 15, 2023!
