After a long time of hoping for something great to come on the silver screen or TV by Halo fans, that dream was realized through the Halo TV series, at least in the fact that it happened. Sadly, it seems that the vision and dream did not meet reality.

It has now been reported that Paramount canceled the Halo show after only two seasons. It isn’t completely dead, however, as there is still the option for another studio to pick it up. Its time with Paramount, however, is done.

The show enjoyed mild success. It currently stands at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.3/10 on IMDb. You can check out our reviews as well. It hit its stride, for the most part, in season two, improving on the writing from season one and the action as well, but unfortunately, what the show did well just didn’t seem to be enough to rise above the criticism of fans or the average level of scores it received.

Amblin, Xbox, and 343 Studios are said to be shopping other outlets for a third season, and Paramount is apparently supportive of such a move. It would be nice to see it land somewhere to finish the story or go on further, as the UNSC and Covenant had just found the halo ring stations.

Halo streams on Paramount+.
