Gravitas Ventures Acquires A Horror-Comedy About A Killer Sloth. Yes, You Read That Right

The horror genre is now broadening its scope to bizarre villains, including…sloths. You are reading the words correctly, as Gravitas Ventures has announced Slotherhouse, a horror-comedy film debuting in theatres on August 30.

The film follows a young college senior named Emily Young, who aspires to become the president of her sorority, Sigma Lambda Theta. In an effort to garner as many votes as possible, she adopts a sloth hoping the mammal becomes the mascot. She decides to name the beast Alpha.

However, a number of deaths occur throughout the sorority, with the evidence pointing toward one slow-moving mammal, Alpha, as the lead suspect. As the film crescendoes, the sisters of Sigma Lambda Theta must survive Alpha’s deadly pursuit.

The film was written by Bradley Fowler, who came up with the idea with Cady Lanigan. The lead actors in the film are Lisa Ambalavanar, Sydney Craven, Olivia Rouyre, Kelly Lynn Reiter, Biance Beckles-Rose, Andrew Horton, Sutter Nolan, Grace Patterson, Milica Vrzić, Annamaria Serda, Rudi Rok, Tiff Stevenson and Stefan Kapičić.

Slotherhouse is being released by Iconic Events Releasing, and spokesperson Nick Royak said, “Slotherhouse is a movie that embodies the reckless abandon genre films can bring to the table. It scratches the sloth itch we didn’t know we had! Our team is thrilled to work on a project that really goes for it, claws and all.”
