Rachael Lillis, the original English voice actress for Misty and Jessie in the Pokémon anime from 1998-2006, is currently battling breast cancer that has spread to her spine, leaving her barely able to walk. Lillis is currently in a nursing home in Los Angeles since January to receive care, but the noise has made it difficult for her to rest. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by her sister to fund a home care nurse for the actress.

This campaign has been shared by her former Pokémon co-stars Eric Stuart (voice of Brock and James), Veronica Taylor (voice of Ash, Delia, and May), and Tara Jayne Sands (voice of Ritchie and various Pokémon) in addition to her successor, Michele Knotz (voice of Misty, Jessie, and May since 2006) and others in the industry. Fans and industry professionals alike have shown their support for the actress. In addition to Pokémon, Lillis has lent her voice to a variety of other projects including Mito Freecss and Cocco in HunterXHunter (2011), Micott Bartsch in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Danny in Sonic X, Dr. Reese Drake, Ursula, and Laura in Dinosaur King, and Cally and Paula in Slayers. If you would like to support Rachael Lillis, the campaign can be found here.
