'Futurama' Returns With A New Season Late July On Hulu
It’s once again time to go to the year 3000 with a new season of Futurama! Arriving on Hulu starting July 24, an episode of this new season will arrive every Monday. These ten episodes are said to appeal to both new viewers and long-time fans.
After a decade since its last season, there are expectations for this revival to deliver. From the synopsis for the season, it seems like it will be bringing plenty of comedic hijinks. There will be “developments in the epic love story of Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box, the secret history of evil Robot Santa, and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles.” To go with that, the new season of Futurama also draws from events that have occurred since its last season to parody the effects of a pandemic and “the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV.”
First arriving on screens in 1999, Futurama follows pizza delivery boy Fry as he awakes in the year 3000 having been cryogenically frozen. Along with Leela and Bender, the trio explores the galaxy aboard the Planet Express delivery company ship. Its original run lasted four seasons and is considered by many to be one of the truly great cartoons from the 2000s. Previous seasons are available to watch on Hulu.
