The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers 30th anniversary reunion special is bigger than we ever could have thought. On Thursday, Hasbro held its 1027 event, an exclusive livestream for Hasbro Pulse Premium members with product showcases and news.

The Power Rangers presentation was situated between Marvel and Star Wars, revealing the Lightning Collection figures for Blue Senturion and the In Space Silver Ranger. They then moved on to the entertainment news, showing off Ollie’s Blue Cosmic Fury suit. This comes off the heels of production on the season commencing this week.

Hasbro’s news updates continued with the full primary cast of the 30th anniversary Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers reunion special. The segment began by reconfirming the return of David Yost and Walter Jones, who played Billy and Zack, the original Blue and Black Rangers, which was already announced at Hasbro PulseCon. Then, the worst-kept secrets were revealed that Steve Cardenas (Rocky the second Red Ranger), and Catherine Sutherland (Kat the second Pink Ranger), would also be joining them. Previously, Cardenas mentioned his filming in New Zealand. Sutherland had filmed her canceled convention appearance announcement in the same type of pink-lined robe Dino Fury’s Hunter Deno was in.

That certainly was not all. Karan Ashley (Aisha the second Yellow Ranger), and Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam the second Black Ranger) would also be returning in the reunion special. Last but not least, the reunion special would introduce a new character Minh, the daughter of Trini Kwan, the original Yellow Ranger. She will be played by Charlie Kersh.

While Kat and Rocky both appeared in 2018’s 25th-anniversary episode “Dimensions in Danger” during Super Ninja Steel, Karan Ashley hadn’t played Aisha in a Power Rangers television episode since Master Vile de-aged the planet in “Rangers in Reverse,” before Aisha herself was written out and gave her Zeo Subcrystal to Tanya. Johnny Yong Bosch’s Adam last appeared in the 15th-anniversary episode “Once a Ranger,” and was the only Saban-era Ranger besides Tommy Oliver to appear in a Disney-produced season.

The cast announcement photo shown at the end of the presentation is worth noting. According to Bosch, the badge on his uniform reads SPA, which leads to many speculations. Many believe it stands for Space Patrol Alpha, which is a part of the greater Space Patrol system that includes Space Patrol Delta. It could even stand for Academy.

This photo is also the first appearance of Alpha 5 since remotely attending the induction of the new Turbo Rangers in “The Power Transfer.” This finally confirms that he survived the attacks by Dark Specter’s forces all those years ago.

There is nothing dangerous about the energy of the excitement this news builds. Both Power Rangers Cosmic Fury and the yet-untitled 30th-anniversary special premiere in 2023.
