On Saturday, February 24, members of SAG-AFTRA gathered to celebrate their accomplishments in television and film. Oppenheimer dominated the film categories with three awards while the comedy series The Bear earned three awards in the television categories. Beef earned two awards for Steven Yuen and Ali Wong’s performances, while The Last of Us was recognized for Pedro Pascal’s performance and the stunt ensemble.
The 2024 SAG Life Achievement Award was given to Barbra Streisand for breaking through the glass ceiling as the first woman to direct, produce, write, and star in a major motion picture, and being the first woman to win a Golden Globe. Her work with charity including the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center and the more recent Barbra Streisand Institute at UCLA, designed to examine critical contemporary issues, contributed to her being chosen for the prestigious award.

While the night featured incidental cast reunions and a celebration of TV and film, the guild members took a moment to remember the historic strikes over the summer. SAG President Fran Drescher told the members, “You are the champions. Your collective dignity and perseverance to stand up and say we deserve better because we are better resulted in a historic billion-dollar deal. Your solidarity ignited workers around the world, triggering what forever will be remembered as the hot labor summer.” The ceremony is available on Netflix. Check out the full list of winners below.
