First Look At Jamie Clayton As Pinhead In 'Hellraiser'
Clive Barker's body-horror movie Hellraiser from 1987 introduced the world to Pinhead, an extra-dimensional being with horizontal and vertical scars on his white skull and needles coming out of their intersections. Pinhead quickly became a pop-culture icon like Jason Voorhees, Michael Meyers, or Freddy Krueger.
The story about a man, who toys around with a mysterious wooden cube, is sucked into the dimension of the Cenobites and has to drink the blood of innocent victims to become human again, led to nine sequels between 1988 and 2018, of which only the first three were released in cinemas, while the others were direct-to-video productions.

On October 7, Hulu will release another entry into the franchise, simply called Hellraiser. Directed by David Bruckner and written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, the new movie will neither be another sequel nor a remake but a reboot.
"I just didn't think you could ever remake the original Hellraiser. It's too much its own thing and it would be, I think, perilous territory for filmmakers, because how do you top that? This is a new story in the Hellraiser universe.", says the filmmaker.
Still, the main beats of the story will be similar: a human - this time a young woman dealing with addiction and compulsive behavior - played by Odessa A'zion messes around with a mysterious box which leads to the arrival of Pinhead. But while in most of the previous films, the strange and brutal creature was played by British actor Doug Bradley, this time Pinhead will be a female, portrayed by Jamie Clayton (Sense8).
And Bruckner is quite fond of the decision to swap the gender of his main antagonist: "We knew we wanted Pinhead to be a woman. Jamie was just the right person for the role. A person's identity can be really exciting for a role in many ways, but I have to emphasize that Jamie absolutely killed, that's how we got there."
He also teases that there will be more Cenobites, than just Pinhead, one of them called The Masque. Also part of the cast is Goran Visnjic (Timeless), who plays a sinister, highly intelligent man, who is obsessed with "the box".
Bruckner of course hopes that his Hellraiser reboot resonates well with the fans and allows him to continue to work in this franchise: "Should the fans and the movie gods allow, I would love that idea.".
