First Gameplay Footage Of 'Star Wars: Hunters'
Multiplayer games have evolved beyond the classic years of the early 2000s with games like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and your RTS games like Starcraft. What started with Starcraft competitions in South Korea decades ago have now gone global, with eSport competitions stretching across many games. Games like Rainbow Six: Siege, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Valorant, to name a few, dominate Twitch streams and competitions.
Star Wars is looking to jump on that train with their upcoming arena-style hero shooter, Hunters. Recently, Zynga, developer of many mobile games like Farmville and Words With Friends, dropped the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming game highlighting combat and team play.

Characters are as varied as the alien species in the Star Wars universe. Some of the ones shown include a Wookiee with a massive mace, suggesting a more melee-based approach to that hero. There’s also a Mandalorian that can fly around the map and uses blasters for a more ranged approach, but there’s also a ground pound power demonstrated for closer encounters.
There are also lightsaber wielders (I hesitate to use the word Jedi, as one is a droid, and the other has a red lightsaber), and just as the Mandalorian hero has a ground pound ability, suggesting some form of ultimate or powers, the force wielders naturally use the force for their powers. Other characters show a more defensive or support, role like the droideka or the heavy gunner stormtrooper
Hunters will launch on June 4th on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
